1) Using the shape tool is easy because the shapes can be perfectly symmetrical or not and still have a clean line no matter how you draw it.
2) The pen tool is hard because the anchors are difficult to plan and sometimes the lines do not curve the way I would like them to. 3) I like using the shape builder because the separate tools I use can be made into one cohesive shape. 1) What is vector art?
Vector art is art using a series of geometric and mathematical equations in order to have a piece that can be scaled or printed with clean lines. 2) Why would you want to use vector art (Illustrator)? Vector art is able to be scaled larger or smaller without worrying about the resolution being affected. The clean lines will stay clean no matter how you print or change the image. 3) Do you find Illustrator easier or more difficult than Photoshop? Right now I think that Photoshop is easier to use than Illustrator. I have gotten used to the tools and commands of Photoshop, and although many of them are the same, some of the things differ drastically and I am still getting used to it. The tool layout is also unfamiliar and it is uncomfortable not having a brush size changer or a color wheel on the side. 1) What do you like about your image?
I really like the dark shadows and shading that I added to make the image seem more sinister and evil. I feel that the dark aspects add to the spooky theme and make the cracks in the skin seem more horror-themed than gross or comedic. 2) What was difficult about the tutorial? The language barrier on the tutorial made it difficult to follow along as most of the tools were named different things. There were also some parts in the video were he went too fast and I had to replay the portion repeatedly to understand what he did. 3) Do you feel that your image is realistic looking, why? No, I don't feel like my image is realistic. The cracks in the skin are very obvious and there are also a lot of cracks. The exaggeration shows the photoshopping done to the image. The very dark and desaturated aspects of the photo also show intentional changes. |
